Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Mexico
The highlight of my day was my fabulous breakfast. The restaurant was located in Puerto Morelos, a small fisherman’s village about 20 minutes north of Playa. The restaurant was merely a small palapa close to the town’s main dock. The great part of this breakfast was that they served one of my favorite Yucatecan dishes, Huevos Moltulenos. My mom used to make this dish only on special occasions and holidays. The plate consisted of a fried corn tortilla layered with black beans, ham, peas, cheese, eggs and of course some habanero salsa. Another hearty breakfast.
